Dr. Hu is in my thoughts daily, as I have a picture of her above my desk, reminding me to be frugal, resourceful, and work hard. I had the honor of meeting her in 1977 when I was 19 years. She took me under her tutelage, and pushed me toward fulfilling my potential. Thank you Dr. Hu.

Prof. Hu is a scientist and also a close friend of Prof. TB Ng's research group. She did the authentication work for many of our samples of natural seeds, which facilitated our further biochemical studies and the late publication in international journals.

尊敬的胡教授，我们从不是您的学生，却从您那里学到不平常的一课——贻人玫瑰之手，历久弥香；助人是快乐之本，是“厚生”之道。从来未曾谋面，心中却常见到您的笑脸！谢谢上主，是他恩待使用您这忠心的使女，使您不但享有104岁的高龄，成为生物学界的世界级专家，更成为出自古城徐州的一位圣徒，一位属于中国更属于世界的圣徒！

也许是巧合，胡教授去世前几天，许久没有生病的我一直低烧不退。虽然素未谋面，但胡教授您醉心科研，近百岁高龄也还奋斗在科研的第一线，实在人让人既钦佩又羡慕。我也会以您为榜样，继续在科研这条道路努力下去。愿您在天国永享安康！
